Madagascar
Made up of 5 groups of islands, the Outer Islands are located beyond the Seychelles plateau. There are 72 in total, consisting of sandbanks or coral atolls.
The first islands are accessible after about twelve hours of sailing from Mahé. Less visited than their granitic cousins due to their geographical remoteness and mostly uninhabited, these miniature original worlds offer intact habitats for many local species. A lost paradise!
